Hello, Washington County! 🎉
Last weekend, we saw The Pros and Cons of Killing Your Husband at the HART Theater and had such a great time. It’s written by a local, and the show is delightfully dark, funny, and heartfelt. The theater was sold out even on Super Bowl Sunday, so I suggest getting tickets if you want to catch it. Nothing better than supporting community theater on a rainy day!
Always check the event source before heading out, as details can change last minute. I collect events and create this list by hand, so events aren’t automatically updated if there’s a change.

“Connection Through Sound” is a uniquely intimate concert designed to show how music bridges the gap between personal experience and community spirit. The evening spotlights 17-year-old saxophone virtuoso Jacob Peizner, beginning with the emotional depth of Schubert’s String Quintet in C Major before shifting to Peizner’s solo performances of Bach, Karg-Elert, and Salleras. The program reaches a lyrical peak with Glazunov’s Saxophone Concerto in E-flat Major, showcasing the rich, singing voice of the instrument. It is a beautiful opportunity to support a rising young star while experiencing some of the most powerful works in the chamber and classical repertoire. - The Pros and Cons of Killing Your Husband
7:30pm and various times through Feb 22, HART Theater, Hillsboro
In the quirky town of Cowbell, MO, Gertie’s 50th anniversary doesn’t exactly go to plan when her husband hands her a fishing pole instead of a diamond. This disappointing gift sparks a darkly comedic spiral as Gertie, fueled by years of frustration and some questionable pills, starts plotting his exit with the help of her ride-or-die friends. It’s a sharp and hilarious look at the wild lengths people will go to for self-discovery when marriage and friendship get a little too complicated.
