Hello, Washington County! 🎉

I’ve been really into going to the movies because movies have actually been stellar recently and SO worth a trip to the theater. My butt has spent many hours in the seats at Bridgeport and Cedar Hills, which I’m super grateful for, and we’ve also had the best time exploring some of the quirky theaters in Portland. If you’re looking for a theater that’s an experience itself, here are some that I’ve had fun at recently: Laurelhurst Theater, McMenamins Bagdad Theatre, Moreland Theater, Hollywood Theatre, and The Academy. If you have any other fun movie theater suggestions, send them my way!

• Tigard Festival of Balloons
  5:45am-sunset Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (closes at 5pm Sunday), Cook Family Park, Tigard
  The Tigard Festival of Balloons is a three-day celebration where you can catch early morning hot air balloon launches and return at sunset for the glowing Night Glow (weather and pilot permitting). Spend your day enjoying live music, a car show, vendors, kids’ activities, carnival rides, and food and drink, all while knowing your ticket helps support local nonprofits and community programs across the Pacific Northwest.

• Gem Faire
  12pm-6pm Friday, 10am-6pm Saturday, and 10am-5pm Sunday, Westside Commons, Hillsboro
  Gem Faire is a long-running gem, jewelry, and bead show where you can browse a wide range of gemstones, crystals, beads, minerals, and jewelry-making supplies from trusted vendors.
• Bee Amazed! with the UO Museum of Natural and Cultural History ✅
  3pm-4:30pm, Tigard Public Library, Tigard
  Zoom into the world of Oregon bees and discover over 500 species, from mason and cuckoo bees to mining, longhorn, and honeybees. Expect hands-on science activities and plenty of buzz as you explore these tiny but mighty pollinators.
• Oregon Midsummer Festival
  5pm-9pm Friday and 10am-5pm, 8800 SW Oleson Rd, Portland
  Celebrate the arrival of summer with a lively Midsummer gathering where you can decorate the traditional pole, make flower crowns, enjoy live music and performances, and take part in games, crafts, and Nordic-inspired treats. Shop local vendors and soak in the beautiful weather while everything feels a little bit magical.
• Summer Sounds: Federale at Sosta Garden Amphitheater
  7pm, Sosta Garden Amphitheater, Beaverton
  Join Sosta House’s Summer Sounds concert series and catch Federale live on stage. Bring your friends and family for an evening of music, with wine and food available for purchase. Expect a cinematic set from the Portland band, blending psych rock, country, and spaghetti western-inspired sounds.
• David Pollack – Live Music ✅

  David Pollack is a Portland-based singer/songwriter with a soulful voice and a style shaped by artists like Paul Simon, James Taylor, and Benjamin Gibbard. • British Day at Portland Cars and Coffee ✅

  British Day returns to Portland Cars and Coffee on the last Saturday in June, bringing a full lineup of classic and modern UK brands like Aston Martin, Bentley, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lotus, McLaren, Mini, MG, Morgan, Rolls Royce, Triumph, and TVR. • Balloon Festival 5K Fun Run

• Learning Garden Fair ✅

  Hosted by the OSU Washington County Master Gardener Association, this event brings together gardening, sustainability, and education partners for a day at Jenkins Estate. • WCCLS Birthday Party featuring Emmy Blue and the Squatchie ✅

  Happy 50th birthday to WCCLS!   The 10th annual Beaverton Pride in the Park is here! Celebrate the parade at 11am and then enjoy an amazing lineup of entertainment starting at 12pm. Get ready for live music, drag performances, family-friendly entertainment, community organizations, local artists, vendors, food, and more!
• Ballet Folklorico Academia Gabriela Presents: Jardin De Las Maravillas (Garden of Wonders) – A Magical Celebration of Folklórico Dance

  Step into Jardin de maravillas, a folklórico dance recital inspired by the heart and soul of Mexico, featuring performances that highlight regions like Nayarit and Sinaloa through vibrant music, choreography, and traditional skirt work. • Holi Summer Fest: A Celebration of Color
  3:30pm, McMenamins Grand Lodge, Forest Grove
  Celebrate Holi in Forest Grove with Anjali & The Kid, featuring Bollywood and Bhangra dancing, live performances, and colorful powder throws at 4:30, 5:30, and 6:30pm. This all-ages celebration uses only organic colors made from plants and supports farmers in India, with everyone invited to dress for a joyful, messy, color-filled evening in the grass.
