Hello, Washington County! 🎉

Last week was full of Halloween events and, just like that, we’re suddenly packed with holiday markets. If the time change didn’t give you enough whiplash, the shift in holiday festivities might. But, hey, I don’t mind! If you want to finish your holiday shopping early while supporting local businesses, there are a number of great events to check out this weekend.

Always check the event source before heading out, as details can change last minute. I collect events and create this list by hand, so events aren’t automatically updated if there’s a change.

Friday, November 7

• Holiday Market ✅
  9am-3pm Friday and Saturday, 12555 SW 4th St, Beaverton
  Browse handcrafted décor, apparel, and jewelry, indulge at the cookie bar, and enjoy a warm soup lunch from 11am to 2pm.
• 36th Annual Holiday Food & Gift Festival
  11am-7pm Friday, 10am-6pm Saturday, 10am-4pm Sunday, Westside Commons, Hillsboro
  Shop hundreds of unique vendors featuring art, jewelry, toys, décor, and more, while sampling gourmet foods, wines, and spirits. This event is perfect for early holiday shopping and discovering one-of-a-kind gifts.
• Meet Santa ✅
  2pm through Dec 24, Washington Square Mall, Portland
  Step into Santa’s winter wonderland starting Friday, November 7! Visit Santa at Center Court for a free meet-and-greet and create lasting holiday memories. Photo packages are available, and pre-booking your spot comes with a free personalized digital message from Santa and a 3-month trial to Crayola Create and Play.
• Friends of the Library Book and Media Sale ✅
  3pm-6pm (2pm for members) Friday, 10am-4pm Saturday, Tualatin Public Library, Tualatin
  Find your next great read at the Friends of Tualatin Library’s semi-annual book sale! There’s a bag sale the last two hours Saturday. Proceeds support library programs.
• “Naturally Northwest: Prints and Poems” Reception ✅
  5pm-8pm, 12695 SW Crescent St., Suite 150, Beaverton
  “Naturally Northwest: Prints and Poems” showcases over 25 collaborative works between Print Arts Northwest printmakers and local poets, alongside prints from the eighth annual Emerald Print Exchange and Grey Raven Gallery artists. The exhibit opens with a reception featuring refreshments and live harp music by Tracey Rose Brown. The show runs through November 29 during regular gallery hours, Tuesday–Saturday, 11 AM–5 PM.
• Black Matter Closing Celebration ✅
  6pm-9pm (performance at 6:30pm), The Reser, Beaverton
  Celebrate the closing of the exhibition with a special performance and artist meet-and-greet. Master Artist Michael Bernard Stevenson Jr. presents Urban Shaman, a powerful performance confronting capitalism and reclaiming ancestral heritage through ritual, movement, and creative resistance.
• Bingo and Wine
  6pm-8pm, Oak Knoll Winery, Hillsboro
  Have a fun night of wine and bingo! Westside Pizza Kitchen will be there to make the night even more delicious. Ages 21+.

  Have fun swimming while watching a movie!
• After Hours Teen Movie Night

  Looking for something fun to do on a Friday night? Come hang out at the library with other teens for movies, board games, and more! Arrive by 6:00 p.m. sharp (no late entry). Pickup is at 8:00 p.m. in the back parking lot.
• Next Stop Comedy
  7pm, Frank’s Noodle House, Beaverton
  Next Stop Comedy brings top comedians to your neighborhood for a night of laughs. This show features headliner Jordan Cerminara, Kyle Adams, and mystery comics.

  The Stage at Rise Church 10445 SW Canterbury Ln, Tigard
  Catch the timeless comedy Harvey, where Elwood P. Dowd’s life is turned upside down by his unusual companion, a 6-foot, 3-inch invisible rabbit. When his sister tries to have him committed, a hilarious chain of mix-ups and mistaken identities ensues, leaving everyone wondering what’s real and what’s truly sane.
• Andee Joyce presents Rhythm & Autism

  Enjoy a heartfelt, musical journey through growing up autistic in the pop-culture chaos of the ’60s and ’70s. Featuring live music, humor, and storytelling from Andee Joyce with accompaniment by Ray Maras, this sensory-friendly show includes open captions, “flapplause,” and a welcoming environment for all.

Saturday, November 8

• Leaf Disposal and Food Drive ✅

  Drop off your leaves and support local families! The event is free, but donations of two non-perishable food items are encouraged to benefit St. Vincent de Paul’s food distribution program.
• November Artisan market in Hillsboro ✅
  9am-3pm, 9620 NE Tanasbourne Dr., Suite 300, Hillsboro
  Celebrate local talent at this November market, featuring handcrafted jewelry, artwork, holiday decor, clothing, beauty products, and more. Meet the makers, hear their stories, and find unique gifts while supporting small businesses in your community.
• The Genealogical Society of Washington County ✅
  10am-12pm, Brookwood Public Library, Hillsboro
  Learn how to uncover, document, and verify family stories using MyHeritage’s records. Genealogy expert Melissa Barker, known as The Archive Lady, shares her 35 years of research experience and expertise in Tennessee archives to help you trace and tell your ancestors’ stories.

  Taste pours from 14 wineries, a brewery, and a distillery, browse local artisan goods, enjoy live music, and take home a keepsake wine glass. All proceeds support the Rotary Club of Sherwood.
• Sip and Shop

  Kick off the holiday season in style at Historic Downtown Hillsboro’s 5th Annual Sip & Shop! Grab your shopping passport and explore over a dozen local merchants while sampling wines from up to 14 regional wineries. Proceeds support Hillsboro Downtown Partnership’s mission to keep downtown lively, local, and full of community spirit.
• Metropolitan Youth Symphony Presents Season Opener Community Concert

  Metropolitan Youth Symphony presents a Community Concert featuring ensembles from Portland Overture Strings, Interlude Orchestra, Portland Chamber Strings, Sinfonietta Orchestra, and Symphonic Wind Ensemble. For 50 years, MYS has nurtured young musicians of all levels and backgrounds, offering comprehensive programs, tuition assistance, and in-school concerts to make music education accessible to everyone.

  Join us and the eight piece acoustic band, Raspberry Bourrée, to get acquainted with Balfolk, the dance craze from Europe. We will focus on traditional from dances from Gascogne, Bretagne, and other regions of France. All ages welcome!

  Celebrate Scorpio season at Zesti with a night of high-energy beats from DJ Pinoy. Dress to impress in bold, mysterious colors, bring your crew, and dance the night away.

• SHS Grad Night 2027 Community Bottle & Can Drop-Off Event ✅
  1pm-3pm, Sherwood High School – Lower Parking Lot, Sherwood
  Let’s rally together to help fund an unforgettable, substance-free celebration for our seniors! Clean out your garage, bug your neighbors, and bring your bottles, cans, and glass to donate — we’ll handle the sorting! Every can counts toward an amazing Grad Night for the SHS Class of 2027!
• Holocaust Remembrance ✅
  2pm-3:30pm, Tigard Public Library, Tigard
  Hear local Holocaust survivor Eva Aigner share her childhood experiences under Nazi persecution in Czechoslovakia and Hungary during WWII. Note: this program includes strong language and descriptions of violence and death. Presented in partnership with the Oregon Jewish Museum and Center for Holocaust Education.
• Hasta La Muerte with Las Cafeteras
  7pm, The Reser, Beaverton
  Experience a vibrant two-act performance blending music, dance, and Mexican folklore to honor life, death, and everything in between. This Day of the Dead–inspired production explores grief and remembrance through stunning choreography, poetry, and original songs, celebrating love as the bridge between worlds.
