Hello, Washington County! 🎉

This weekend, we have a bunch of movies under the stars, a couple of outdoor concerts, a night of salsa dancing, and even a carnival for the dogs. I think the pups and I will be heading out to the Canine Community Carnival because how could I not spoil them with a carnival of their own?! If you see some spoiled chihuahua mixes, stop and say hello! I’ll probably be wearing my Dolly shirt 💔

Friday, August 28

• Interviewing with STAR ✅

  Celebrate Washington County’s farming heritage at the Helvetia Farm Fair, with live music, local food trucks, old-school carnival games, farm animals, and equipment on display. Show off your skills in Best in Show competitions featuring homemade favorites like pickles, pies, and sourdough, or cheer on the corn-shucking competition.
• The Hit Machine – Friday Nights on the Farm ✅
  6pm-8pm, Hoffman Farms Store, Beaverton
  Spend an evening on the farm with live music, food, and drinks. The whole family can explore the farm store, hop aboard the train, or head into the fields for some evening berry picking.
• Huckle Buck Highway – Live Music ✅

  Get ready to dance on the patio!
• Alela Diane on The Vineyard Lawn: Summer Sounds
  7pm, Sosta House, Beaverton
  Spend an evening on the Vineyard Lawn with singer-songwriter Alela Diane. Bring a blanket and settle in for outdoor music, with wine and food available for purchase. Tickets are required for guests of all ages on a sliding scale, with additional proceeds supporting Immigration Counseling Services. No outside food or drinks, and chairs with legs are not permitted.
• Salsa Dance Night with Dina y Los Rumberos
  7pm-9:30pm, The Walters, Hillsboro
  Get ready to dance with a beginner-friendly salsa lesson from Lines Dance Academy at 7pm, followed by a high-energy performance from Portland’s Dina y Los Rumberos at 8pm. The band blends salsa, cumbia, Afro-Cuban rhythms, and Latin jazz, and no dance partner is needed.
• Hayley Lynn – Live Music ✅
  7:30pm-9:30pm, Murrayhill Taphouse, Beaverton
  Settle in for a relaxing evening of live music from Hayley Lynn, whose captivating vocals and mix of folk, indie, and acoustic favorites make for a laid-back summer soundtrack.
• E.T the Extra-Terrestrial: Pix in the Park ✅

  Catch E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (PG) under the stars. Bring a blanket or low-back chair, or pack your own food and drinks, and enjoy pre-movie activities starting at 7:30pm before the movie begins at dusk. Light concessions will also be available for purchase, and the movie will be closed captioned in English.
• A Minecraft Movie – Park Flix ✅

  A small goat gets a once-in-a-lifetime chance to join the pros and play roarball, a high-intensity, co-ed, full-contact sport dominated by the fastest and fiercest animals around.
• Lip Bomb – Live Music ✅
  8:30pm, Coyote’s Bar and Grill, Hillsboro
  Lip Bomb is back with a quirky mix of ’80s and ’90s dance and rock hits, plus new songs, plenty of laughs, and the Best Kazooist in the Northwest. Bring your dancing shoes, grab something from Coyote’s menu, and settle in for a show.

Saturday, August 29

• Pickleball Tournament: Dash Paddle Bash 2026
  8am, Rogers Park, Forest Grove
  Forest Grove Parks & Recreation’s first Dash Paddle Bash Pickleball Tournament brings mixed doubles teams to Rogers Park for a fun, competitive weekend that also supports the Fun For All Fund. Players will compete by age bracket and skill level, with prizes for the top three teams in each division. Spectators can attend for free, while families can enjoy food trucks, music, a playground, and a Kid Zone with crafts and activities. Children must remain supervised by a parent or guardian.
• C10 Truck Day at Portland Cars and Coffee ✅
  8am-11am, Langer’s, Sherwood
  Calling all C10 fans! Whether you call it a Fleetside, Stepside, or Square Body, bring your truck to the Featured Parking lot. Ford, Dodge, and all other makes are welcome in the remaining 300 spaces.
• Canine Community Carnival ✅
  9am-12pm, Garden Home Recreation Center, Portland
  Bring your pup to the Canine Community Carnival for a day of outdoor fun. Check out vendor booths, music, raffle prizes, treats, a pop-up dog run, water station, and activities for kids. The event happens rain or shine, and all dogs must be leashed.
• Lane Norberg – Live Music ✅
  1pm-4pm, Sidereus Winery, Cornelius
  Portland singer-songwriter Lane Norberg brings his warm vocals and heartfelt songwriting to the deck, with a style that blends the sounds of James Taylor and John Mayer. Settle in with a blanket or lawn chair and listen while enjoying wine tastings, wine by the glass or bottle, beer, and nonalcoholic drinks.

• King Louie & Renato Caranto – Live Music ✅

  Spend the evening with King Louie on keys and Renato Caranto on saxophone as they bring a soulful mix of jazz, blues, and funk to the stage.

• Bernie Sims – Sunshine Sunday Live Music ✅
  1pm-4pm, Blakeslee Vineyard Estate, Sherwood
  Spend an evening with singer-songwriter Bernie, who has spent decades performing original songs alongside a wide range of covers. His music features rich vocal harmonies and thoughtful arrangements, shaped by years of songwriting and production work. Bernie has released three projects, including his 2024 EP, Are You Ready?
• Hoppers: Family Movie ✅
  2pm-4pm, Tigard Public Library, Tigard
  Get ready for adorable animals as you watch Hoppers on the big screen.
• Holi Summer Fest: A Celebration of Color
  Color throws at 4:30, 5:30 & 6:30pm, McMenamins Grand Lodge, Forest Grove
  Celebrate Holi with a Bollywood and Bhangra dance party featuring Anjali’s Gulabi Gang and PDX Bhangra. The all-ages celebration includes three color throws at 4:30, 5:30, and 6:30pm, with organic, plant-based colors made in India from ingredients like flowers, seeds, and vegetables. Each paid admission includes a packet of colors, and a portion of proceeds will support farmers in India. Wear white or old clothes and expect to get messy. No outside colors are allowed.
