We’re almost 10 days away from the Oscar’s, so here’s your reminder to power through all of the movies you haven’t seen yet. I’ve had years where I watched 3 movies the day before, which got the job done, but was much less enjoyable than it could have been. We watched Sinners last weekend, which I was really impressed by as a fan of horror movies.

Always check the event source before heading out, as details can change last minute. I collect events and create this list by hand, so events aren’t automatically updated if there’s a change.

Wednesday, March 4

• Just Ask Gen Z (and Alpha!) ✅

  The Teen Library Council is here to help you navigate the complexities of the modern world! Whether you’re looking for encouragement, a solid book recommendation, or just some random, weird facts to impress your friends, you can submit your questions at the Tigard Public Library’s temporary Express Library location. An actual, real-life teen council member will compose a witty and wise reply just for you. While you’re there, you can also flip through the Just Ask Gen Z notebook to catch up on their previous retorts and insights.
• Nature @ Noon: Orenco Woods Nature Park ✅
  12pm-1pm, Orenco Woods Nature Park, Hillsboro
  Learn about local plants, animals, and habitats with a family-friendly nature walk and trail activity through the Nature @ Noon program! This recurring event meets rain or shine on the first Wednesday of the month. It’s a great way to spend time outside, explore different natural areas, and engage in hands-on trail activities led by educators.
• The Best Garden Trees ✅

  The Clackamas County Master Gardener Association is hosting a “Let’s Grow Together” webinar perfect for anyone looking to add new trees or care for mature ones. Led by OSU Extension Master Gardener Sherry Sheng, the presentation reviews climate effects on trees, provides placement guidance, and introduces several great candidates for Pacific Northwest gardens.

It’s a great way to enjoy some friendly competition with friends and family in a cozy farm setting.

  Local author Rebecca N. Thompson, MD, is visiting for an after-hours celebration of her book, “Held Together: A Shared Memoir of Motherhood, Medicine & Imperfect Love.” This engaging evening features a “woven reading” and storytelling session where the author and several of her collaborators will reflect on navigating growth and family challenges.
