This weekend, we have an event from Allied Brands Collective that I want to be sure you pay attention to! Allied Brands Collective is an incredible organization that grew from the belief that Survivors deserve ongoing community and support long after the immediate crisis has passed. They are building a Survivor-led movement where women can continue rebuilding their lives, recognize the value of their lived experience, and shape what comes next on their own terms.
They offer ongoing Survivor peer support, business mentorship and networking, increased visibility and promotion for Survivor-owned businesses, curated vendor showcases and community events, community education and advocacy, and more. Feel free to stop by their event on Saturday to support their work and learn more about their impact in the community!

As part of Beaverton’s Welcoming Week, Beaverton City Library welcomes filmmaker Vu Pham for a sneak peek at his forthcoming docufiction, Sea Rose Ashes. After the screening, Pham will discuss his escape from Vietnam with his mother as refugees, her tragic murder shortly after their arrival in the U.S., and his decades-long journey through trauma, survival, and memory that ultimately led him to pursue restorative justice. Newlyweds Corie and Paul Bratter are about to discover that marriage can be wonderfully, disastrously hilarious in Neil Simon’s classic comedy Barefoot in the Park. Set in a fifth-floor New York City walk-up, the play explores love, compromise, and the chaos of realizing you might not be quite as compatible as you thought. Fast, funny, and joyful, it’s B&B’s first production of a Neil Simon play. - Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None

You’ll be seated inside the house among the bedrooms, dining room, and narrow passages, close enough to hear whispered confrontations and private confessions. Add a new nun to the mix, and everyone starts wondering whether spies from Rome are out to shut them down. Run through Beaverton on the Beaverton Half Marathon, 10K, or 5K, with routes featuring the scenic Fanno Creek Path. The mostly flat 5K is an out-and-back, while the 10K and Half Marathon share the first 6.2 miles. Both longer races also pass through the Settler Way Neighborhood, home to one of the event’s best cheering stations. - Put Down Roots Tualatin – Stewardship Work Party ✅

Help care for Tualatin’s greenways and natural areas. Learn about invasive species and native plants while removing ivy and blackberry and planting native species. All ages and abilities are welcome, and no experience is necessary. Tools and training are provided. Dress for the weather, with closed-toe shoes and long pants recommended. The work party takes place rain or shine, and you’re encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle. - Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event ✅

Metro is hosting a household hazardous waste collection event where you can safely dispose of unwanted paint, batteries, pesticides, cleaners, propane, automotive products, medical sharps, and more. Join authors M.B. Thurman, Lily Meade, and Rain Sullivan as they celebrate the release of Curses, Charms, & Other Enchantments! Enjoy an hour of conversation followed by a short Q&A, and plenty of time to have your books signed by our visiting authors. All attendees will receive art prints inspired by the anthology, thanks to Contrarian Publishing. This event is free to attend but requires an RSVP as seating space is limited.
