We have a great week of outdoor music! The city concerts will be wrapping up for the summer. If you want to get one last concert in this season, this week is offering a lot of great options!

Always check the event source before heading out, as details can change last minute. I collect events and create this list by hand, so events aren’t automatically updated if there’s a change.

Wednesday, August 19

• Jigsaw Puzzle Drop Off ✅
  Library hours through Aug 22, Tigard Public Library, Tigard
  Swap out your old puzzles for something new at this community puzzle exchange. Drop off complete puzzles in their original boxes from August 16–22 at the Tigard Public Library to receive a voucher for each one, then return August 23 to choose new puzzles. Any puzzles left after the exchange will be available to everyone from 1–1:30pm, no voucher required.
• Annual Sunflower Festival
  9am-5pm through Aug 23, Lee Farms, Tualatin
  Celebrate summer at Lee Farms’ Sunflower Festival, where you can wander acres of blooming sunflowers, enjoy family-friendly farm attractions, and take home a bloom. Round out your visit with locally sourced food, drinks, photo opportunities, U-pick flowers, and optional experiences like picnic packages or the farm’s popular sunset dinners among the blooms.
• Jenkins Estate Historical Tour ✅
  10am-12pm, Jenkins Estate, Beaverton
  Step into the past during an open-house tour of the Jenkins Estate. Drop in to explore the Main House and historic Stables at your own pace, with Volunteer Historical Ambassadors stationed throughout to share stories, architectural details, and fascinating facts about the families who once called the estate home.
• Art in the Park (Evergreen Park) ✅
  10:30am-12pm, Evergreen Park, Hillsboro
  Art in the Park combines storytelling and creativity in a fun, hands-on program for elementary and middle school students. Children will enjoy a story read in both Spanish and English before creating an art project inspired by the book, and each participant will receive age-appropriate books and a free coloring book to take home.
• In Conversation With Dr. Jennifer Lincoln & Maria Berglund ✅
  5pm-6:30pm, Sherwood Bookstore, Sherwood
  Join Dr. Jennifer Lincoln for a conversation about her new book, The Birth Book, hosted by local Sherwood resident and In Kind Boxes founder Maria Berglund. Signed copies will be available, but reserve a copy in advance to make sure one is available for you.
• Wild Boys: Concerts in the Park ✅
  5pm-8:30pm, Cook Park, Tigard
  Take a trip back to the golden age of MTV with Wild Boys, a tribute to the iconic sound and style of Duran Duran. Tigard Parks & Rec invites you to dance along to the band’s biggest hits and relive the energy of the ’80s and beyond.
• OPS Fest: The Comedie of Errors (Abridged) ✅
  6:30pm, Camille Park, Beaverton
  Experience Shakespeare as it might have been performed in Elizabethan England with Original Practice Shakespeare Fest’s The Comedy of Errors. Follow two sets of identical twins through a hilarious tangle of mistaken identities, confusion, and chaos, performed with limited rehearsal, scrolls in hand, audience interaction, and an onstage prompter.

Thursday, August 20

• Lunch and Fun at Langer Park! ✅
  11am-12pm, Langer Park, Sherwood
  Spend time at Langer Park with the Sherwood YMCA, Sherwood Public Library, and WCCLS for summer fun. Enjoy lunch from the Y, a craft from the library, and a free book for every child who attends.
• Rachel Rogers: Music in the Plaza ✅
  5pm-7pm, Universal Plaza, Tigard
  Head to Universal Plaza for a Thursday evening of live music with Rachel Rogers. Bring your friends and family, grab some food, and settle in for a relaxed night of music and community.
• End of Summer Reading Party ✅
  5:30pm-7:30pm, Brookwood Library, Hillsboro
  Wrap up your summer reading adventures with an outdoor celebration featuring games, activities, and plenty of chances to get wet. Bring your ticket or Hillsboro Public Library reading log for entry and access to all the fun.
• To What Do We Pledge? An Oregon Humanities Beyond 250 Conversation ✅
  6pm-7:30pm, Bethany Library, Portland
  Mark the 250th anniversary of the United States with a community conversation about solidarity, mutual aid, and what it means to be connected to one another. In partnership with Oregon Humanities, poet and democracy advocate Wendy Willis will lead a discussion inspired by the Declaration of Independence’s pledge to one another and what that commitment could look like today. Registration is required.
• Hillbilly Supper Club: Downtown Sounds ✅
  6pm-8pm, 1st Street Dining Commons, Beaverton
  Head to Downtown Beaverton for a free evening of live music with Hillbilly Supper Club at the 1st Street Dining Commons. Their set features foot-stompin’ old-time and jug band tunes alongside reinvented classics, making for a lively summer night in one of downtown’s favorite gathering spots.
• The Golden Age
  7:30pm, Tualatin Heritage Center, Tualatin
  Step into a faded Manhattan townhouse where literary secrets, family drama, and ambition collide. An aging socialite, rumored to have inspired Daisy Buchanan, becomes the target of an ambitious young academic searching for a supposedly unpublished chapter of The Great Gatsby. What follows is a tangled story of manipulation, romance, and long-held secrets.
